Buddy-Watcher expands its product portfolio


Dear Companists,

During and after our Campaign, we received some suggestions from you to expand our portfolio in our online shop . While we had already planned on attending to this matter in the long-term, these suggestions resulted in us expediting our decision to invest in these efforts. 

Following this, the Buddy-Watcher Navigation has been recently added to our online shop . This device enables divers to find their way back to their diving partners or boat. We hope to improve the diving experience of our customers with this product.


Buddy-Watcher Navigation


Aside from calling and measuring the distance to a partner, it's now possible to navigate your way back to them in the event that they cannot be located. Experienced divers know diving's golden rule: Never dive out or reach of your diving buddy. However, in practice, things don't always work out this way. The Buddy-Watcher offers reliable help for such exceptional situations.

And aside from this, we also plan on integrating additional products to our shop. Here, we intend to exclusively offer innovative products that make diving easier and more enjoyable.


Buddy-Watcher's US tour

The United States is a very attractive market for the Buddy-Watcher. We chose this market as our next expansion target due to the large number of divers in the United States and the general willingness there to consume.

In the course of the STEP Start-Up Valley program, our managing directors, Michael Feicht and Eduard Sabelfeld, traveled to San Francisco from 17 March to 28 March. There, they were able to speak to development partners on the next steps for implementing new functions into the Buddy-Watcher. What's more, they entered talks with a company specialized in industrial equipment for professional divers. Here, the goal is to find out to which extent Buddy-Watcher's technology can be used for this company's equipment items.

What's more, we're also investigating whether it makes sense to open a separate sales branch in the United States. Developing our market directly through a subsidiary in California could greatly accelerate and simplify access to this market. However, such a move would also be associated with high costs for the office and personnel. For this reason, we're looking for an economically sound solution at the moment.

The trip's next step was at the trade fair "Beneath the Sea" in New York. After the success of "DEMA" in Las Vegas last year, we wanted to be present at the trade fair on the East Coast. In addition to having generated approximately $2,000 in revenue, the trade fair was also a success in terms of advertising and it also provided us with valuable sales experience. Due to the positive feedback we received, we'll be returning to the United States in May in order to take part in the "Scuba Show" trade fair in Long Beach.
