MeineSpielzeugkiste comes out of the pilot project with good news

Dear Companists,

With this, our second update, we would like to communicate the results of our pilot project with you - as promised - which ran from 24 to 31 July .

The competence of MeineSpielzeugkiste in the reprocessing of toys is unmatched anywhere in the industry. Meanwhile, the classic toy business suffers greatly due to returned goods. By this we mean returned goods that have already been opened and require complex handling processes. The loss of worth is very high. The ability to offer our services with this issue may be quite obvious to some. We started a pilot project with one of the biggest toy dealers in Germany two weeks ago. We have now finished the trial period and the results are so promising that we want to work together with this toy heavyweight long term.

The Pilot Project - Objective

The goal of the project was to gain a detailed insight into the returns processes of the online toy trade and to identify potential revenue for both MeineSpielzeugkiste and the online toy retailer.

For this purpose, MeineSpielzeugkiste took a sample of 160 toys and channeled them through our reprocessing process.

Result

Our reprocessing process was able to increase the value of the returned goods by + 762%!
By preparing the packaging, putting the toys back together properly, as well as re-sealing already opened goods, we were able to increase the value of the returned goods in the trial from originally €919 to €6,087. The reprocessing costs came to the happy amount of € 1,450.

Next steps: Discussing closer cooperation

Thanks to the excellent results we are currently negotiating the details for future cooperation. Two basic forms of cooperation are being negotiated at present:

  1. Reprocessing as a service

We would work as a service provider for the online retailer. We receive the returns, get the toys back into a sellable condition and calculate a fee for the reprocessing service. The advantage is that both sides will profit from the cooperation from the very first day - the online retailer solves one of his most urgent operational issue and MeineSpielzeugkiste exploits its core competency of refurbishment and further strengthens it.

In the future, reprocessing could be offered to other dealers and expanded into a separate business segment.

  2. A further sales channel with heavy shopping discounts

We would receive the returned toys with a heavy discount and, after reprocessing, offer them to our customers for sale or rental. In addition to marketing campaigns with toy manufacturers, this would be a second, highly attractive, sales channel with which we can offer an attractive range to our customers in an efficient manner. We calculate that the discount would be around 60%, including the reprocessing costs - a result that is unrivaled in the industry.

The only risk of this purchasing strategy is the lack of control over the selection of returned toys. One solution to this issue would be to sell toys to our customer that are unsuitable as rentals with heavier discounts. A mix of services and sales is also being currently negotiated.

We are looking forward to informing you about our new cooperation partner as soon as we clarify the contractual details.

Highest regards,

Florian & Florian

Note

Investments in crowdfunding projects offer great opportunities, but they are risk investments. In the worst case, the entire investment amount may be lost. Consequently, these investments are unsuitable for retirement plans. However, there is no obligation to make further contributions. Investors can minimize their risk by splitting their investment amount between crowdfunding campaigns rather than investing all of it in one crowdfunding campaign. Professional investors often follow this strategy because it causes the risk to be distributed among several investments. In this way, successful investments can balance other less successful investments.

The shares of the Companists are subordinated profit-participating loans (partiarische Nachrangdarlehen). Such loans are shares in a business with similar characteristics as equity. If the company becomes insolvent or is liquidated, the claims of the Companists – just like those of all other shareholders of the company – will be satisfied from the assets in the insolvency or the assets in liquidation only after the claims of all other external creditors have been satisfied. Thus, Companists are treated like any other shareholder of the company during insolvency or liquidation proceedings.
