mySWOOOP FAQ on competition and market situation

Dear Companists,

First off, we want to thank our more than 70 Companists who invested more than EUR 60,000 already within the first week since campaign launch. We are pleased to have you on board and to start off 2018 together with you.

Since we noticed that several of you have asked how mySWOOOP differs from other re-commerce companies and how much potential our industry offers for the future, we have compiled an overview of the most frequently asked questions (FAQ) for you below.

What are the main unique selling points that distinguish mySWOOOP from the competition?

Software

The first major advantage that mySWOOOP has is the software we developed. Not only does it analyze and determine prizes in real time, it also automatically executes procedures that would usually take up several minutes of an employee’s time within seconds.
Examples of such procedures are the creation of article descriptions, the booking of stocks into the merchandise management system, and the placement or advertising of the purchased products on the various sales platforms. Thanks to the technology, processes throughout the business can be carried out quickly and efficiently with just a few clicks. The development and introduction of this software laid the foundation for mySWOOOP to scale its business and achieve its targeted growth in the upcoming years.

Product range

At mySWOOOP’s flagship stores, products, which an online-only business would have difficulties handling due to their size and nature, can be bought and sold. Thus, mySWOOOP can offer products that re-commerce businesses that only operate online cannot. Good examples are televisions or larger hi-fi sets, which often still have very good resale values.

We also purchase products from categories our online competitors do not offer. These are articles we have had good experiences with in our stores. We transfer our knowledge to online sales to scale business on a national level – one example is the sale of power tools.

Security for buyer and seller

This unique selling point focuses particularly on stationary retail. Both when selling something to mySWOOOP or buying something, personal communication with our employees on site quickly provides the customer clarity concerning the desired price (because he knows how we evaluate the device on site) and exactly which product he purchases and how a used product shows traces of use (because he can see the device in store). The former naturally also applies to our stationary purchasing partners.

Payout speed

Thanks to the high efficiency of the various processes, customers can sell products to mySWOOOP more easily and quickly than to potential competitors. In addition, the purchase amount is paid out very quickly. For in-store purchases, this occurs directly on site in cash, and for online purchases within only 24 hours after the goods have arrived at mySWOOOP.

Complementary services

The described complementary services such as mobile phone repairs, theft and damage insurance, mobile phone contracts and financing also set mySWOOOP apart from its regional competitors and create further added value for our customers.

What exactly is the Melchers Group's role as an anchor investor and how does it support mySWOOOP?

From the very beginning, our relationship with the Melchers Group has been characterised by a very high degree of partnership and a clear distribution of roles. We, the founding team around Simon, Benjamin and I, are the operational and strategic heads of the company and determine the direction of the operational activities decisively. With centuries of business experience, the Melchers Group supports and advises us and serves mySWOOOP not only as an investor, but above all as a steady sparring partner who gives us feedback, suggestions and advice.

What exactly are the growth opportunities and dynamics of the re-commerce market in general?

The overall development of the re-commerce market can be summarized as follows: According to our information, almost all market participants have recorded very good and steady growth in recent years because the market as a whole is incredibly large, sustainably growing in importance. One supplier alone is not sufficient for the ever increasing quantity of products and the corresponding demand. This is exactly why the market has room for several well-positioned companies. This trend is also reflected in the strong development of mySWOOOP to date and is constantly confirmed by our rapid progress in completing various milestones and projects on our agenda. More exciting updates will follow shortly.

Best greetings,

Jan-Lucca

Note

Investments in crowdfunding projects offer great opportunities, but they are risk investments. In the worst case, the entire investment amount may be lost. Consequently, these investments are unsuitable for retirement plans. However, there is no obligation to make further contributions. Investors can minimize their risk by splitting their investment amount between crowdfunding campaigns rather than investing all of it in one crowdfunding campaign. Professional investors often follow this strategy because it causes the risk to be distributed among several investments. In this way, successful investments can balance other less successful investments.

The shares of the Companists are subordinated profit-participating loans (partiarische Nachrangdarlehen). Such loans are shares in a business with similar characteristics as equity. If the company becomes insolvent or is liquidated, the claims of the Companists – just like those of all other shareholders of the company – will be satisfied from the assets in the insolvency or the assets in liquidation only after the claims of all other external creditors have been satisfied. Thus, Companists are treated like any other shareholder of the company during insolvency or liquidation proceedings.

The company information published on the Companisto website is provided solely by the companies. The projections made by the companies do not guarantee successful development of the company in the future. Consequently, crowdfunding investments are suitable only for those investors who can cope with the risk of a total loss of the capital invested. Investors make their own independent investment decisions and bear all risks themselves.

The investments are provided and issued by the individual companies. Companisto is neither the provider nor the issuer of the investments, but solely the internet service platform.
