BE Food and StadtFarm arouse international interest

Dear Companists,

The Green Week is always a highlight at the beginning of the year - we filled our partner IKEA's stand with plants and welcomed several visitor groups. Furthermore, a new cookbook with tasty suggestions will soon be available on the market.

1. High-profile visitor at the StadtFarm

The Australian Minister of Agriculture, David Littleproud, honored us last week with a visit to the StadtFarm Herzberge. His delegation was highly interested in different topics - even though the Berlin winter was unusually cold for the guests who are used to warm weather.

The question of water usage by AquaTerraPonik met with particular interest, as the Minister is also responsible for "water resources" and supports the Australian Prime Minister in the area of drought prevention and response. Australia is currently experiencing one of the worst periods of drought ever recorded - not unlike our dry summer of 2018, except that some droughts have lasted over a year. The land, which is not very fertile in many parts anyway, can hardly feed the animals grazing on it. Australia imports about the same amount of food as it exports - mainly fish, fruit and vegetables are brought into the country. The minister said that more and more farmers are starting to grow their own plants in greenhouses and are therefore dependent on water-saving methods. A technique such as AquaTerraPonik would have very exciting possibilities here.

In addition, a lady from the delegation signaled that organic certification for food produced in StadtFarms is possible in Australia. She was visibly impressed by the high degree of sustainability of our production method. According to her descriptions, a strong trend towards a more conscious consumption of food can also be observed in Australia, especially with regard to food, which the StadtFarm concept would very much accommodate.

A representative from the Australian Trade and Investment Commission - the counterpart to the German Gesellschaft für Außenwirtschaft und Standortmarketing mbH ("Association for Foreign Trade and Location Marketing") as a promoter of trade and foreign investments - was also present. BE Food AG was included in their database after the visit so that we can get in touch with interested investors (at least annual roadshows) as well as - should this step follow - support in the acquisition of funding if we later want to enter the Australian market.

At the end, our kitchen conjured up snacks and the minister was allowed to eat his fill of fish balls, smoked fillet and stock. They also tasted our honey and praised the fillet. The participating embassy members have already announced their intention to come privately with their families to visit. Therefore, the contact should be long-lasting and we are looking forward to continued exchange with down under!

2. StadtFarm in a new cookbook

The district Berlin-Lichtenberg, in which the StadtFarm Herzberge is located, recently asked us if we would contribute a recipe and profile for a new book - "So isst Lichtenberg" (How Lichtenberg Eats). Of course we said "yes" and brought a delicious bread salad with asparagus, algae, our leafy greens and bits of hot fried catfish fillets. The photo shoot at Café Maggie featured both Anne-Kathrin (cooking) and the dish itself.

The book will be published in March and will then be available in stores - but will also be used as a gift by politicians, which should spread it relatively widely. Thus we are both locally rooted while also arousing international interest.

Our campaign is nearing its end - the target of EUR 500,000 will soon be reached. This is also the limit, i.e. the maximum amount we want to earn - and of course we want to fully realize this limit with the help of the Companists! So take the opportunity to accompany us on our journey, be it to Düsseldorf or Sydney, and invest today.

With kind regards,

Anne-Kathrin Kuhlemann

Note

Investments in startups and growth companies offer great opportunities, but they are risk investments. In the worst case, the entire investment amount may be lost. Consequently, investments in startups or growth companies are unsuitable for retirement plans. However, there is no obligation to make further contributions. Investors can minimize their risk by diversifying the amount they invest in startups and growth companies and not investing the entire amount in one startup or growth company. Professional investors often follow this strategy because it causes the risk to be distributed among several investments. In this way, successful investments can balance other less successful investments.

The shares of the investors on Companisto are subordinated profit-participating loans (partiarische Nachrangdarlehen). Such loans are shares in a business with similar characteristics as equity. If the company becomes insolvent or is liquidated, the claims of the investors (Companists) – just like those of all other shareholders of the company – will be satisfied from the assets in the insolvency or the assets in liquidation only after the claims of all other external creditors have been satisfied. Thus, Companists are treated like any other shareholder of the company during insolvency or liquidation proceedings.

The company information published on the Companisto website is provided solely by the companies. The projections made by the companies do not guarantee successful development of the company in the future. Consequently, investments in startups and growth companies are suitable only for those investors who can cope with the risk of a total loss of the capital invested. Investors make their own independent investment decisions and bear all risks themselves.

The investments are provided and issued by the individual companies. Companisto is neither the provider nor the issuer of the investments, but solely the internet service platform.
