Optimization of the Online Shop

Dear Companists,

Our goal was to revise the design of our website so that it focuses more clearly on the strengths of Foodist: discovering, giving away, and assembling handmade delicacies.

What's new?

Clear Structure

Over time, we added additional categories and features to our website, for instance "Friends Recruit Friends," "Corporate Customers," "How It Works," "Blog," etc. Due to this large number of additional features, the site lost its emphasis on certain categories.

The revised website is now clearly structured because it focuses on the 4 major categories of "Foodist Box," "Gift Ideas," "Gourmet Shop," and "Stories."

Meet the Maker

Transparency of manufacturers is an important distinction between Foodist and other gourmet shops. In the "Stories" category, you can find our new blog in which we publish interviews with and reports on select manufacturers of Foodist. Moreover, customers can get an impression of the manufacturer on each article page because of a portrait photo and a text explaining the special characteristics of the factory next to the photo.

Optimization for Conversion

We paid close attention to optimizing conversion. In addition to black, we added green to the range of colors. Green Call2Action buttons lead customers to the completion of a transaction, for example "View Shopping Cart" or "Subscribe." Also, we took some steps to increase the trust of our customers and to help them overcome their concerns when they are thinking of buying something. Foodist will soon be authorized to use the "Trusted Shop" logo and has already been "SSL-certified," i.e., customer data are only processed in an encrypted manner (we do not use OpenSSL for this, so we are not affected by the "Heartbleed" bug).

Optimization for Tablets and Mobile Devices

As of now, an average of 27 % of customers use a tablet or cell phone to access The number of people using shopping websites via mobile devices is increasing. is now completely responsive, i.e., it adapts automatically to smaller screen sizes so that shopping is a pleasure on mobile devices as well.

We are looking forward to your feedback and other suggestions for improving our online shop.

Best regards,

Investments in startups and growth companies offer great opportunities, but they are risk investments. In the worst case, the entire investment amount may be lost. Consequently, investments in startups or growth companies are unsuitable for retirement plans. However, there is no obligation to make further contributions. Investors can minimize their risk by diversifying the amount they invest in startups and growth companies and not investing the entire amount in one startup or growth company. Professional investors often follow this strategy because it causes the risk to be distributed among several investments. In this way, successful investments can balance other less successful investments.

The shares of the investors on Companisto are subordinated profit-participating loans (partiarische Nachrangdarlehen). Such loans are shares in a business with similar characteristics as equity. If the company becomes insolvent or is liquidated, the claims of the investors (Companists) – just like those of all other shareholders of the company – will be satisfied from the assets in the insolvency or the assets in liquidation only after the claims of all other external creditors have been satisfied. Thus, Companists are treated like any other shareholder of the company during insolvency or liquidation proceedings.

The company information published on the Companisto website is provided solely by the companies. The projections made by the companies do not guarantee successful development of the company in the future. Consequently, investments in startups and growth companies are suitable only for those investors who can cope with the risk of a total loss of the capital invested. Investors make their own independent investment decisions and bear all risks themselves.

The investments are provided and issued by the individual companies. Companisto is neither the provider nor the issuer of the investments, but solely the internet service platform.
