Research requests FAQs

General

Equity-based crowdfunding is regulated by the act on the protection of small investors (Kleinanlegerschutzgesetz) that was adopted by the German parliament on 23.04.2015. Companisto published a blog post on the topic that summarizes the significant changes. The act itself can be accessed (German only) here.

The start-ups financed through Companisto have created a combined total of 278 jobs and currently have a combined total of 1.66 million customers (Last updated: Septebmer 2015).

All information and figures related to the calculations can also be found in the report.

The total value of the start-ups financed through Companisto has increased from €83.51 million to €102.92 million. This corresponds to a 23.24 % increase in value. In addition to the company value of the start-ups, the value of the investors' shares has also increased by 15.32 % on average. The shares from 2012 have seen the most significant increase in value. In fact, their value has increased by an average of 87.60 %. If one converts the increases in share value to annual values, the average annual increase in value amounts to 8.50 %. For the calculation of value increases, we also took into account the five cases of bankruptcy during the approximately three years since the launch of Companisto (Last updated September 2015).

All information and figures related to the calculations can also be found in the report.

All contracts for each respective funding round, such as e.g. the participation contract, the pooling agreement and the investment information sheet can be found in the overview sections of the start-up profiles. In order to access these documents, you have to create a free profile.

Crowdfunding rounds are conducted by the start-ups and/or growth companies. Companisto is happy to forward relevant research requests to the start-ups.

The selection procedure starts with the submission of a pitch deck, the criteria for which are listed here. Companisto conducts funding rounds for start-ups and growth companies (venture loan). Start-ups need, on the one hand, a scalable business model and a convincing team of founders and, on the other hand, a product that has already been fully developed or is almost ready to be launched. Growth companies must be established businesses with substantial revenue (revenue EUR 500,000 or more). And finally, the team and their business model must be able to win over the Companists. It is the crowd's decision.

Since the foundation of Companisto, we have received approx. 3000 applications. Investment amounts, number of Companists and number of funding rounds are regularly updated on the homepage (upper part of the site map).
