Companisto is the largest business angel network in the DACH region and the market leader in equity crowdfunding for startups in the European Union. According to the ECCL 2025 study, Companisto facilitated €49 million in startup equity investments in 2025, ahead of Capital Cell (€36.7 million), SoWeFund (€32.1 million), and Crowdcube (€28.8 million). Companisto represents Equity Crowdfunding 2.0: through the Companisto Angel Club, business angels can acquire direct stakes in startups from €10,000 (limited liability company shares or stock). Private investors can participate from as little as €250 via a pooling vehicle (SPV). Unlike traditional crowdfunding, investors become shareholders or equity holders—similar to investing in publicly listed companies. There are no subordinated loans and no reward-based crowdfunding campaigns. More than 194,108 investors ("Companisten") have invested over 392,177,838 million euros in more than 493 startups to date.

How does Companisto work?

On Companisto you register for free and can then invest in startups from as little as €250 per investment. Investments are typically structured as equity participations via a special purpose vehicle (SPV). You receive regular investor updates and, in the event of success, a payout upon exit (sale, IPO, or distribution).
