A strong first six months of 2017 for copaltec! The course is set for the second six.


Dear companists,

with this update, we would like to offer you some information on the course of the first half of 2017 and to provide you with an outlook for the second half of the year.


copaltec exceeds expectations for the 1st half of 2017

We succeeded in achieving our targets for the first half of the year. Together with the deposit for the order from China [EUR 37,000], turnover to 30.06.2017 [EUR 143,000] amounts to approximately EUR 180,000. We had planned sales of 153.000 EUR for the first half of the year (actual turnover in previous year: EUR  76,000).

Our workload in the first half of the year was characterised above all by test phases for our potential volume customers. The main sales drivers continue to include our existing customers and our distributor from China. Our potential volume customers, for whom test developments could be carried out and invoiced for, already account for smaller sales volumes. The following overview of the shares of turnover:


Revenue breakdown by client groups


We define "volume customers" as customers with a sales potential of > EUR 250,000 per annum and the "central pillar clients" as a customer group where each has a sales potential of > EUR 50,000 per annum. With regards to the "central pillar clients" and the "volume customers", we are planning significant project volumes for the future which are already in advanced acquisition and test phases.

In particular, in the second half of the year we plan to move the small sales volumes from the current customer business to being larger project revenues. At one major customer (a large technology group from Southern Germany), production will commence in the 4th quarter of 2017. We are also confident that we will gain "volume customers" from our pipeline in the second half of the year and that we will be able to realise revenue from development and framework contracts. We are also planning for a further order from our distributors from China.


EUR 100,000 investment threshold exceeded! - Our Next Steps…

Upon reaching the financing threshold of EUR 100,000, we have initiated the search for a professional sales manager. Because of the “summer slump", we plan to employ somebody at the end of the 3rd quarter, at the latest in the 4th quarter - the "on-boarding" will, however, also depend on the termination conditions of the candidate. We are being supported in the search by a professional personnel consultant (Focus Magazine “Top personnel service provider" 2015, 2016 and 2017) from the network of our investor, EKKUB - copaltec will not incur any costs for the search because this concerns a replacement.

Depending on the outcome of the campaign, we plan to recruitment additional staff. In the area of project management - insofar as we are able to realise the funding target of EUR 600,000 EUR - the employment of a technical key account manager is planned. This person is to be responsible for the volume customers and should promote the associated project business.

Also, we are already on the search for larger commercial premises with a view to counteracting high transport and logistics costs due to external storage capacities. It is our aim to move in the first quarter of 2018. Alongside a larger production and storage area, attention will also be paid especially to having very good process and logistics flows.   • We require production, laboratory and storage areas (ideally located on the ground floor) and office facilities
  • Ceiling height min. 5 m and floor load min. 3.5 t (production and warehouse)
  • Location: 20 km radius from Stuttgart and reachable for our employees by means of public transport
