Dr. Anja Martin , Samuel Taylor
Is your favourite footballer back in a Nutella advert? And have you been shooting hoops with Kobe on your console yet?
Sporting personalities are among the most famous figures in the world. But what if, in future, they could appear simultaneously in adverts, video games or digital applications without actually being there in person?
Dr Anja Martin and Sam Taylor have been working on solutions that give athletes more control over their digital identities whilst also creating new marketing opportunities. As co-founders and co-CEOs of PlayAI, they have been exploring how digital twins of athletes can be utilised, protected and monetised in the future.
With the rise of generative AI, entirely new opportunities are emerging for advertising, media and sport. At the same time, issues surrounding rights, control and monetisation are becoming increasingly important.
