When can I use INVEST?

Companisto identifies suitable Angel Club investments and provides the information required for the INVEST application.

The most important requirements:

Minimum investment of €10,000

Newly issued shares in an eligible company

In principle, no existing participation by the investor in the company

Minimum holding period of three years

BAFA application before completion of the investment

Natural person with primary residence in the EEA or, under certain conditions, investment through an investment GmbH or UG

INVEST can also pay off at exit

If you received an acquisition grant for your investment and later sell the shares at a profit, you may under certain conditions receive an additional exit grant equal to 25% of the capital gain.

Yes, under certain conditions. A Business Angel or investment GmbH or UG based in the EEA can also apply for the acquisition grant. It may have up to ten shareholders, all of whom must be natural persons. The exit grant, however, is only available to natural persons.
Yes, subsidised shares are generally subject to a minimum holding period of three years.
The economic failure of the company alone does not generally trigger repayment; BAFA may reclaim the grant if funding conditions are breached.
Under certain conditions, natural persons can receive an additional exit grant equal to 25% of their capital gain. One requirement is that an acquisition grant has previously been awarded for the relevant shares. The capital gain must amount to at least €2,000, and the shares must generally be sold between three and ten years after acquisition. The exit grant is capped at the amount of the acquisition grant previously awarded.
