Key questions before you get started.

Startup investments expand your portfolio to include young companies outside the stock market. They give you access to specific startups and growth companies in which you cannot invest directly through a conventional stock or ETF investment.

Their particular appeal lies in investing early: You invest at a stage when companies are establishing their products in the market, attracting new customers and expanding their business. A young company can become a major player in its market. As an investor, you participate in that journey and share in the increase in value it creates. Successfully building and substantially expanding the business offers the potential to multiply the value of your investment.

You also directly finance entrepreneurial ideas: Your capital supports the development of new technologies, products and business models. This combines the prospect of financial success with the opportunity to advance innovation and help build the companies of tomorrow.
You invest in the equity of a startup or growth company and share in its increase in value. In the Angel Club, you acquire company shares directly. With startup investments from €250, you invest through a pooling company that holds these shares.
As an investor, you benefit financially through the sale of your investment or through profit distributions. There are three main routes:

Sale of the company – an exit: If the company is acquired, for example by a larger business, you receive a share of the sale proceeds for your stake sold in the transaction. If these proceeds exceed the capital you invested, you make a profit. This is the aim of many startup investments: invest early, help finance growth and realise the increase in value when the company is later sold.

Sale of existing shares – a secondary: Individual investors or groups of investors can also sell their stakes without the entire company being sold. Buyers may include investors looking to invest at a later stage of the company's development. You can also offer your own investments for sale to other investors on the Companisto secondary market.

Profit distributions – dividends: If the company generates profits and decides to distribute them, you receive a share in line with your investment. Young startups, however, usually prioritise growth: profits are therefore often initially reinvested in products, people and new markets.
Registration and membership with Companisto are free – both for startup investments from €250 and in the Angel Club. You can get to know the companies and then decide whether you would like to invest.

For successful investments, Companisto receives a performance-based share of profits, known as carry. We only receive this profit share when you make a profit. This aligns us around a common goal: the long-term financial success of your investments.
No. After registering for free, you can get to know the companies and their business models. Company information, founder presentations and the Investor Academy help you understand startup investments and make your own investment decision.
Startup investments are intended to be held for several years: companies need time to establish their products and grow. When an opportunity to sell your investment will arise is not known at the outset. You should therefore plan to commit your capital for the long term.
Young companies may develop differently than expected. An investment can lose value or fail entirely.
